Cdrkit 1.1.11 has been released.

Think there was much confusion between the libraries since, and most have
returned to using cdrtools and/or the issues were resolved by looking at the
last release date of cdrkit.

I'm completely unaware of distribution specific preferences, as I use Gentoo.
And Gentoo seems to swing with anybody initially making sense. ;-)

Doing a search on Google for "cdrtools or cdrkit" returns an initial most
recent 2010 result here recommending just to use cdrtools, with some recent
insight.

Other than this recent post of 2010, all other posts are dated prior to year
2008/2009 or even 2006.

Also note, the variable name CDDA2WAV incites cdda2wav. Defaulting to icedax
doesn't seem right, as most these days have cdrtools installed as far as I'm
aware.

If cdrkit (icedax) is default for Debian still upon verification by another
Debian user, probably should be a comment within the abcde.conf file about
this. ie:

# Debian uses cdrkit and not cdrtools. CDRKit has icedax for cdda2wav.
#CDDA2WAV=icedax

On my distribution as well as most, trying to find icedax is a royal pain in
the @ss, as it's little known to be contained within cdrkit!

But, best to leave this to a Debain (or maybe even Fedora/RedHat) user to reply
that they still ship with cdrkit by default. Even if so, they'll likely be
familar with icedax unlike other Linux users.

It is probably far more assumed, most just use cdparanoia instead of cdda2wav,
especially since specifying the sample-offset is much easier versus cdda2wav's
offset implementation from what I've discerned from forum posts. (ie. cdda2wav
-offset is computed in 1/75 seconds and specifying an integer from
http://www.accuraterip.com/driveoffsets.htm won't work unless you first convert
to 1/75 seconds.) Whether or not icedax even has this option yet, I don't
know.
