Another option, is for the cdrkit or Xoriso packages to provide a symlink to 
cdda2wav.

>From what I'm seeing Gentoo has moved in the past five years, Gentoo is 
providing univeral symlinks with an eselect package managing the symlinks.  
(ie.  eselect cdparanoia)
