Just call me Robert. DMHC is just a moniker for one of my favorite pastimes. :D
I am retired, but still work two days a week. I will be off the rest of the week, and will be devoting time to this problem.
I did read up on scp because that is how I transfer the files from my laptop to the server. There are encoding settings, that handle how the files are sent. That did not improve the situation.
Both the files that “work” and those that do not display properly, are both utf-32BE.
