Hi Robert,
I've run out of answers for you but I did want to point out that
perhaps this is a good time to update your technology stack. The AIFF
format hasn't been updated since 1991 [1] and the ID3 standards for
metadata weren't published until 1996 [2]. In your last email there is
an abcde comment tag of ' comment : abcde version 2.8.2' that
was probably released in 2017. I guess that whatever compatibility you
are getting from rune is more accidental rather than intentional and
well tested. I strongly recommend you switch to flac to get the
metadata support and compatibility that you're wanting and upgrade to
the latest version of abcde, either 2.9.3 [3] or my latest 2.11.1 [4].
