In this release:
- New munge function: mungecddb
- this is a pre-processor for CDDB entries to apply local standards,
such as capitalisation, removing excess spaces, line endings and
punctuation. See my example configuration for how to use it.
- Workflow enhancements and fixes:
- show genre and or year field in the diff, even when empty to
maintain a standard format
- do not (re)move the cover art so it remains available for more than
one output format. The clean action will still delete it.
- Change CDDB default configuration to gnudb
- Add line numbers and function names to debug output
- Add a PERFORMER line for each track in the CUE file. This is
especially useful for Various Artist discs
https://github.com/poddmo/abcde
and a package for Debian and Ubuntu users:
https://github.com/poddmo/abcde/releases/download/2.12.2/abcde_2.12.2-1_all.deb
My next steps are:
- test the package on Ubuntu 26.04
- test automation. I mostly use interactive so I can get the metadata
perfect up front and be done with it. But I have a mountain of discs I care
less about and just want to process as fast as possible (stuff that I
recognise the talent but would rarely listen to. A well rounded music
collection should include them.) I think this will mostly be about
reviewing and optimising the cddb and cover art lookups
Thanks to everyone for feedback and input.
