I totally agree with this, it's the way I do it on my Ubuntu machines:
apt install abcde flac eject eyed3

and then install my latest updated version from the github repo with
all the bug fixes, workflow and metadata improvements:
wget https://github.com/poddmo/abcde/releases/download/2.12.0/abcde_2.12.0-2_all.deb
dpkg -i abcde_2.12.0-2_all.deb

You will need a command line and/or config file that does what you're
wanting, especially for the type of music file format. It will help if
you can tell us more about:
- your goals (quick and dirty music rip or archive and preserve the
integrity of your collection)
- starting place (eg which version of linux mint, what your audio cd
collection looks like (many sets, singles, a handful or box loads)
