[Expo-tech] troggle issue

The reset script makes over enthusiastic use of wiping the DB.
The caves reload particularly calls reload_db() which is the nuclear
function.
There are a couple of others that use
management.call_command('syncdb', interactive=False)
The comment says
# this sets the path so that import settings works in import_survex
I'm fairly sure you can set the path without messing with the database.
