Right,
so we should remove frames where we find them.
Such as all over the 161 survey pages.
I’ll leave that to someone keener at doing CSS than me.

This isn't a troggle thing, someone many years ago added their own menu and navigation to these pages (you will find it in the expoweb HTML).
If you only want one menu you have to wrap the custom one in a div class menu, so troggle knows you are trying to do your own thing and won't add it's normal menu.
Frames are pretty dated, you can use div and CSS to get better effects.

There are broken links for all but one of the icons at the top of this page

and the icon that works (horrible 16bit thing that it is) is
http://expo.survex.com/icons/index.png
but for the life of me I can’t find where troggle produces /icons/ from, or where these icon files actually are.
Also I see this interesting snippet: http://expo.survex.com/1623/161/names.htm

Your browser doesn't seem to have frames enabled. The glossary was becoming
very unwieldy and has been split into a page for each initial letter,
intended to be accessed through a framed page. You can get to an index of
these individual pages if you click <a href="a-z.htm">here</a>. <!--You can get
the single-page glossary (66k) <a href="atoz.htm">here</a>, but note that
this version will probably not be maintained after 1998. - - You bet. DL -->
</body>
So what is our current policy on *frames* on the expoweb site ?
