[Macchiato] SD problems

Hey guys,
I'm sstill stumped here with getting my Macchiato to boot off SD. I've
tried lots of different cards and can't find anything that will
work. The *only* card that I've seen work is the unlabelled/unknown
card that Ard brought with him to Cambridge last month. Nothing else
even comes close to booting on my board, which makes it really
difficult to get much further with doing anything on my machine.
If it wasn't for this *one* SD card working fine first time, I'd be
tempted to say my machine had a hardware fault. I've tried multiple
Sandisk cards from 1GB up to 64GB, Samsung 32G, Toshiba 32G, Kingston
8G and up, Intenso 4G. I'm waiting on another Kingston 4G card to land
tomorrow, to try that too. It's very frustrating. :-(
I'm assuming failure logs are not interesting. I can supply them if
desired - just ask.
In the meantime, I can see that there's a fallback option to boot via
UART. Is there any documentation about what's needed to use that
anywhere?
