Who knows, maybe it's somehow related to unstable SD card operation in
UEFI? 7040/8040-DB do not have such problems with this interface (and same
cards).

Anyway, please boot via UART, following this instruction:

We found it today, and it really eases the whole process. I'll take it to
main McBin wiki.
