Hello Steve,
Thank you for your update.
Its unfortunate as its the private hire that has cause this change.
My thinking of why it may not be permanent is that the diving club may go outside from the spring onwards and that could mean they open the times up for public swim and hence the later sauna time.
I used to use the Abbey three times a week, Mon, Wed and Friday but increasingly other pool activities have restricted when I could go on those days, primarily in the evening.
Although I am a full Abbey member I now only use it once a week but am a member at another pool, which has better facilities but is more expensive.
I will see how it goes before I make a decision but the Abbey adult swim lesson is very good value especially at members rates but I will really miss our sauna session that we enjoyed from 20.30.
Kim

Hi Kim (and others!)
I went in and spoke to Pete Cameron on Tuesday about the changes to
the schedule. He was utterly unapologetic and didn't care that we were
being kicked out. He's decided on the schedule changes. The excuse is
that they need a lifeguard on hand while people are in the sauna, as
it's poolside. Apparently the hire of the pool for the diving club
(with their own instructors and safety setup) means that Abbey don't
need a lifeguard for the pool at that time, so ... tough luck for
us. He's saying that they should have made this change already a long
time ago and isn't interested in hearing otherwise.
My own impression is that maybe he's a new manager there, or
something.
Andy and I are considering abandoning Abbey, I'm afraid - the sauna is
one of the main reasons for us going there, and without it being
available at the times we want/expect we may as well go elsewhere. :-(
