I do something like this too - I rip everything to FLAC and store the
cue files alongside. If I need to, I can generate a new raw copy of
the CD using wodim/cdrecord etc.
In terms of re-encoding to other formats, I've got a FUSE-based
encoder to generate Ogg Vorbis and MP3 files from the FLACs too.
I should actually publish some more of this stuff... :-)
