[Abcde-users] need help with a gap of silence in a flac encoded file near the beginning of a piece

Thanks Jason for pointing me to the doc for the command line flac encoder.

I added the following options to flac through abcde and that fixed
the problem:

abcde -o flac:"--verify --best",wav -p -V -j 7 -B -k 1-2 |& tee abcde1.log

I think it was caused by the parameters used in the encoded data not being
easily decoded by the vlc decoder I was using to play it back.

A diff of the analysis of the two flac files revealed those as the only
differences.

I tried the --picture option when running flac standalone using the same
wav file and that did not produce the gap.

In fact running flac standalone with many different options did not produce
the gap either.

I don't know exactly how abcde runs flac but the way it runs it for this CD
always produces the gap. Hence this might be an avenue for improvement for
abcde.

The problematic flac file was 65994756 bytes long and the correct flac file
was 65994756 bytes long, so the correct file is 0.35% smaller than the
problematic file.
