No, there were conflicts amongst the hg changesets themselves, probably
something to do with the way the importer linearised the branch structure.
Having files with different line endings didn't help here either.

You'll probably need to find some way of preserving the tags. I have a
feeling there won't be anything to be gained though, as I think the
problematic files appeared in the gap between the cvs and svn transition,
and I nobbled them in the git changesets at that point. You'll see there
are some empty changesets further along as a result of this.
