post-2001, 2002 and 2003 all break.
post-2004 is the first one that works.
2001,2,3 predate the hg repo so I can't check if they worked there. Maybe not.
I should be able to work it out from the CVS checkouts, but will have to remember how to do those!

Then they are all OK until post-2015. which has issues in 264
same issue for post-2016 and 17.
post-2018 is when 'all' disappears and that's broken with lots of grumbling
post-2019 is similar.

post-2001 fixed by:
looking for 2000-aa-01 instead of 2000-AA-01
Correcting dates to be ISO: (26.7.1993 > 1993.07.26, avoiding 'assumed to be 1926')
However the surface surveys to 158 (L8to158.svx) and 144 itself (144/144.svx) are
missing. This indicates a genuine issue. Both those caves were known and surveyed
at that point and we should have the files.
l8to158 is in the cvs repo, but in your git it's added in 'gap between cvs and hg'.
That's wrong. It's a 2000 survey so we should put it in post-2001.
144 is indeed missing in the cvs, but they are all 2000 or earlier surveys so should be present. I've put them back.
Include a case-fix for l8to158 and it works :-)
So I've pushed a '2001' branch (to avoid clashing with the tag 'post-2001' - my git-fu doesn;t run to distinguishing between branch refs and tag refs with the same name) with a working version, which should probably be folded back in at the post-2001 tag.

I wonder what else is missing... Worth checking survey dates I guess
to see what should be promoted forwards in the dataset.
