I haven’t reinstalled the machine since these instructions: https://lists.einval.com/pipermail/macchiato/2018-January/000058.html <https://lists.einval.com/pipermail/macchiato/2018-January/000058.html>
I’m afraid not much has changed. I installed a firmware image onto SD card most recently from Leif, which proved that we could boot with a PCI-e card reliably(ish). It also proved that the 1.3 BIN is not different from the 1.2 BIN in how it trains NVIDIA graphics cards to PCI-e 1.0 speeds.
After that, I installed xfce4, and put the following into /etc/modprobe.d/nouveau.conf:
options nouveau noaccel=1 runpm=0 nofbaccel=0 modeset=1
All of that should be sufficient to get going. I used an HDMI cable as that means you can use the audio from the graphics card.
I’m keen to test people’s patches out, so I’ll grab the firmware when it is available.
Thanks,
Stuart
